Industry

Insurance software.

Insurance is a long-memory domain. A claim made today may be assessed against wording, rates and regulation from years ago, so the system has to be able to reconstruct exactly what was true at any past moment — not just what is true now.

What shapes the architecture

Constraints that are specific to this sector.

These are the things that would be wrong or meaningless if written about a different industry. They are design inputs, not compliance paperwork added at the end.

  • 01

    Everything is effective-dated

Policies, endorsements and rate tables all have validity periods, and mid-term changes create versions rather than edits. Overwriting a rate table destroys the ability to explain a past premium.

  • 02

The premium calculation must be explainable

Regulators and customers can both demand to know why a premium is what it is. Rating needs to emit an auditable factor-by-factor breakdown, which rules out an opaque model as the sole answer.

  • 03

Claims reserving changes over the claim's life

Estimated liability is revised repeatedly before settlement, and the history of those revisions is itself reportable. Storing only the current reserve loses required information.

  • 04

IRDAI filings constrain the product, not just the report

In India, product wording and rates are filed with the regulator. The system cannot allow selling a combination that was never filed, which makes product configuration a controlled surface.

Systems we build

Typical work in insurance.

  • Policy administration
  • Quotation and rating engines
  • Claims intake and adjudication
  • Underwriting workflow support
  • Agent and broker portals
  • Regulatory and statutory reporting
Integrations

What it has to talk to.

  • IRDAI reporting
  • Reinsurance systems
  • Payment gateways
  • KYC / verification
  • Document management

Integration surfaces are where most sector projects actually fail. We treat each one as a boundary with its own translation layer, rather than letting an external format leak into the domain model.

A first conversation costs nothing and is useful even if you go elsewhere — you'll leave with an architecture opinion and a realistic sense of scope.
