About
An engineering partner, explained plainly.
What the name means, how we work, and where we are — written plainly, because the way a firm explains itself is a fair sample of the way it works.
The name
Apex, and sutra.
Apex is the summit — the standard we are trying to reach on the systems we build, not a claim about having arrived there.
Sutra is a thread. It is the older and more useful half of the name: the work that matters in enterprise software is rarely a single component, it is the connective tissue between a dozen systems that were never designed to talk to each other. That thread is where projects succeed or quietly fail.
The mark reflects it — a peak crossed by a fine gold thread. It is the whole proposition in one glyph, which is more than most logos manage.
How we work
Engineering habits, not values posters.
These are checkable. Anyone who works with us can tell you whether we actually do them.
Every change is reviewed
No commit reaches production without another engineer reading it. Review is how the team learns, not a gate to get past.
No crunch theatre
Sustained overtime is a planning failure, not commitment. If a date is at risk we change the scope or the date.
Decisions get written down
Architecture choices are recorded with the alternatives we rejected. Nobody should have to reverse-engineer a reason.
You own what you ship
The person who builds a thing operates it. It is the fastest way to learn what production actually demands.
Disagreement is expected
Strong technical opinions are welcome, argued on merit. Seniority is not a tiebreaker.
Honest estimates
We would rather give a client an uncomfortable number than an optimistic one. That standard applies internally too.
How we work
Six commitments, in writing.
Rather than point at a wall of logos, we would rather be specific about how we work — and be held to it. Every one of these is a promise you can measure us against.
- 01
Fixed-scope quotes
Phase one is scoped and priced before it starts. If we discover something that changes the number, you hear it that week — not in an invoice.
- 02
Weekly working demos
Every week you see software running, not a percentage complete. It is the only progress report that cannot be wrong.
- 03
You own all the code
Your repositories, your cloud accounts, your domains. No proprietary runtime you need us to keep operating.
- 04
Senior engineers only
The people in the kickoff are the people writing the code. No handoff to a team you never met after the contract is signed.
- 05
Production-grade from day one
Tests, CI, monitoring and infrastructure-as-code from the first commit. Not a prototype we promise to harden later.
- 06
Documented handover
Architecture decisions, runbooks and a walkthrough with your team. You should be able to continue without us.
Where we are
Based in India, working across timezones.
We take on work here and internationally. Our hours overlap comfortably with European mornings and the start of the North American day, and weekly written updates mean progress never depends on being in the same room. Founded 2021.
Start here
Tell us the problem.
We'll be honest about the fit.
A first conversation costs nothing and is useful even if you go elsewhere — you'll leave with an architecture opinion and a realistic sense of scope.
